Get moving, do something, do anything!

Welcome to 2012!
There is always plenty of talk, hype, messages, and discussions at this time of year about what you might make of the year ahead, even whether you should set New Years resolutions or not, because the reality is that most of us don’t keep them anyway.
Whatever you are up to this week, whether you are on holidays, or just starting to get back into the swing of things at work the one that thing that is far more critical than having a sensational plan or new years resolution is to get moving. To get active, get going and start doing something, start doing anything! This is the key ingredient between those who achieve success and those who simply dream about success.
Choose something that you can do today and quit putting it off. Get going on it. Take the necessary step to get out of your comfort zone and make it a reality. It is too easy to complain about not having enough time, there is always enough time for those who prioritise action.
The thing that we love about this time of year though (aside from the sun and surf!) is the sense of hope that lays in the year ahead. The truth is that hope is the essence that sustains us through changing times. It is the thing that gets us out of bed and looking forward to the next step when we are uncertain about what lays ahead. Hope is what gets us moving.
Hold tight onto the hope for an awesome future and get moving towards it. You’ve got nothing to lose!
Here’s to an amazingly action-packed 2012!

This weeks gift is a podcast interview from the Harvard Business Review with Bob Pozen on productivity.  A man who's been a top executive at two mutual fund giants, an attorney, a government official, a law school professor, a business professor, and a prolific author; sometimes more than one of these at once. Pozen knows a thing or two about personal productivity.
